Kim Kardashian West says she hasn’t spoken to Taylor Swift since sharing footage on Snapchat that proved the songstress approved of Kanye West‘s “Famous” lyrics.
A fan asked the 36-year-old reality star during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday if the feud caused tension with younger sister Kendall Jenner, who is famously friends with many members of Swift’s “girl squad” such as Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne.
“I don’t know if Kendall was a part of her squad. I don’t think she was,” Kardashian West responded. “So I don’t think it was awkward.”
Host Andy Cohen then asked if Kardashian West and Swift had been in contact at all since the incident, the TV star shook her head no.
The two stars have had a complicated relationship that culminated when Kardashian West revealed in an interview that Swift spoke to her husband about certain controversial lyrics in his song “Famous.” Swift’s rep told PEOPLE in February 2016 that the singer “dcautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyrics, ‘I made that bitch famous.’” When the reality star then released the phone call between Swift and West on Snapchat last July, the line or a discussion regarding the specific lyrics was not included.
“Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world,” Swift wrote on her social media account at the time. “He promised to play the song for me, but he never did.”
